JOHN MAYER! :-)

JOHN MAYER IS COMING TO WINNIPEG!! I am so excited. I went with my brother, Tom, today and we went to buy tickets. I am really excited. It's on April 26, so it's a bit of a wait.

I thought about what the year 2007 is going to be like today. I think it's going to be a really good year. First of all, I learned how to snowboard and it was really fun. I have a youth retreat at Bird River Bible camp next weekend that I'm really excited about. In March, I'll be turning the big 15 and I'll be able to get my beginners license in September. That is a little bit weird I do have to admit. Also in March my cousin Larissa is getting married, so my mom and I are flying to Ontario to go to the wedding. Then in April I have this awesome concert to go to. Then in the summer as always, there's the Winnipeg Folk Festival! I'm really excited about that. It's always fun. But that's all the new news I have for now.

Snowboarding...

Ouch. Is pretty much all I have to say. As you may know, I attempted to go snowboarding for the first time yesterday. It was pretty fun, until about 2:00. I wiped out super bad and landed right on my tail bone and it hurt soo bad. That's when I called it quits. I went to sit on some stairs outside to watch people snowboard/ski down the black diamond hill with all the jumps and stuff. I went inside after that and sat with Tim, Paul and Don for the rest of the day because Tim hurt his ankle, Paul hurt his face, and Don hurt his shoulder. It was a pretty good first trip. Now when I go in March, I'll kind of know what I'm doing. I still can't carve, but I can go down the hill without almost killing myself. But that's all I have to write about now.

Florida

It's been a while since I've written anything, but I did write three posts in two days. I was pretty proud. A bunch of people from my church are planning to go snowboarding on Saturday. I heard about it, but I never really thought anything of it. I have now decided that I want to go. I have never been snowboarding before, so it's a first for me. I hope everything goes well, and I learn quickly and don't have a sore butt at the end of the day, but I'm sure I will.

I miss the mornings that were so sunny and warm,
I miss the evenings that were cool and calm,
I miss sitting by the pool, with my feet dangling in.
I miss that bright and warm Florida sun,
I miss the days we spent together walking around in Walt Disney World,
I miss when we would come home and just laze around by the pool.
I miss it all.
I want to go back to Florida.

I know that "poem" isn't very good, but it was just kind of on my mind. I was just remembering waking up to +15 or 20 degrees celcius and just walking outside to sit in the sun. It was so nice.
That's all I have for today though.

My week...

This week has been a good week. I had three exams which kind of sucked, but they're all done and overwith. I think I did okay. I had Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoon's off and then I had Thursday and today off.
Yesterday I went shopping with my mom and three of my friends. We had lots of fun. I got some awesome snowboarding socks. They're so comfy. Then we dropped my friends off at their houses and we went home. I ate supper and then after that my mom and I went shopping again! It was a good day! I got some new skinny jeans. They're pretty sweet too. And after we went to the mall we went to Superstore and I convinced my mom to buy Froot Loops. I had some for breakfast this morning, and they were delicious.
Tonight I am going to Providence College with my youth group. I've been there quite a few times and I've always had a good time. It's pretty fun. Tomorrow I think I might go shopping with my mom again. I want to find some heart fabric to make some festive PJ pants. :-)
Well that's all the news I have today.

Wow it's cold!

Last night I went to play hockey with the "Wild Women". It was really fun. It was beautiful outside when we first started playing. Then the wind picked up after about 45 minutes of playing. I hit my mom with the puck in the shin while we were playing, just so you know. We went inside after that because it was just too cold. That's when I saw it! My mom's leg was purple and bruised and it had bled through her long-johns and her jeans. I felt sooo bad. It was all fine though. She said that it didn't hurt after a while, but I still felt really bad.
After that I went to the Van A's house and I had a sleepover with Kim. I couldn't fall asleep because Kim was snoring and then I pushed her over and her nose started to squeek. Then Mona, the student that they have over from China or something, was talking really loud on the phone and that kept me awake too. Kim was also hogging all the blankets! Sheesh! Anyways, I did finally end up falling asleep and I slept pretty good until about 9:00am.
Kim and I had planned to go to the mall today. We had to take the bus to the mall though beacuse we didn't have a car. We had to walk about five minutes to the bus stop and by the time we got to the bus stop we were almost frozen. It had to have been at least -40C outside with the wind chill.
That's when I was thankful I was wearing my navy blue long-johns from MEC (mountain equipment co-op). They kept me warm all day. We went to see a movie and it's always cold in the movie theaters and my dear long-johns kept me warm then too. :-)

Six Weird Things About Me:

Well, I have been tagged by my dear auntie Michele and I didn't know what that meant at first, but then I asked my dear auntie Linda and she told me. I now have to blog six weird things about me. So, here they are:
  • I like to eat my breakfast sausages with syrup on them. I had some for supper today and they were delicious.
  • I really don't like to read which I think is weird too because my mom is a HUGE reader.
  • My dog puts me to bed every night. He lays on my bed with me for about five minutes before I go to sleep.
  • I will do just about anything for candy. I get that from my mom. :-)
  • According to my youth leaders, I wear increadably bright clothing. Personally, I don't think it's that weird. I just like to wear colours. :)
  • I really like math. Math in grade 8 was way better than it is this year though.

That's all I got. I can't think of anything else anyways.

Exams are sucky....

I officially had my last class of Language Arts, Canadian Studies, and grade 9 Math today. It's pretty exciting to know that I am now finished these three classes for the year. Next semester I have Bible and Science, and I have my first spare ever! I'm pretty excited. I think it is going to be a good semester.
This coming week is exam week. I am not a big fan of exams at all. I really don't like studying for them. My brain tends to wander off and do it's own thing when I'm trying to study. Last night I did a bit of studying and it went pretty well, actually, but I'm going to have to do a lot more studying than just that!
I have four of my friends in my class. Today in school we had to move desks from the classrooms to the gym. This was at the end of the day and I was feeling pretty tired. I wanted to carry a desk together with someone else. But, NO, my friends had to pair up and leave me a loner to carry a desk by myself. I will admit it was kind of my fault because I was supposed to write the exam topics that were on the board onto a paper. I forgot so I had to rush to write them down and the person I was going to carry a desk with, Emily, was sick of waiting so she did it with someone else. Anyways, I'm over it.
Tonight I am going skating with my mom and my aunt Linda and a friend from church, Nathalie. There are other ladies that are coming to, but I don't know exactly who's coming for sure. We are going to play a pretty exciting game of hockey I think. I've been looking forward to it all week, so it'd better be good! I think it'll be a blast though.
Well, that's all the news I have for now.

One week down...

I have officially made it through the first week of school. I know this is a little late but whatever. School was better than I thought it would be last week. It was acutally quite enjoyable. It was good to see my friends and hang out with them again. I didn't go to school on Friday because it was a cold day! :-) I was pretty happy about that!
On Thursday I got my hair cut. I got about two inches off and it is soo much better than it was! I really like it.
Well, I guess I don't really have much to say today but I'm just posting a little update.

Enjoying what's left of my holidays

I am enjoying my holidays for sure! This week I had something planned almost every day. Well on Monday everybody was home because it was a holiday. On Tuesday I slept in for a really long time and then went the the Van A's. On Wednesday I took down the Christmas tree (how exciting!). Yesterday I helped Kim "babysit" the Larendeau girls. We went skating and got slurpee's! Yumm. After that we went to the mall and shopped around a little and I bought some new sweat pants that are really awesome. And finally today, Kim Van A is here and we've just been kind of lathargic the whole day. We made BLT's for lunch! They were pretty yummy. We played Sequence and listened to two songs over and over again! Well that's all I have for today.

Does anyone read my blog other than my Aunt Linda!?

Sometimes I wonder...does anyone read my blog anymore? It seems that only my Auntie Linda reads it!!

Christmastime!

Today I went shopping with my mom and my brothers girlfriend, Kim. We went to Polo Park and it was surprisingly empty. It was great. I bought a jacket and a zipper hoodie. It's pretty awesome.
I love this time of year because everyone is so joyful and happy. I love going to church because we sing Christmas carols and we talk about the birth of Jesus. I love giving and recieving presents. I love watching people open presents and opening my own. I love Christmas trees and the candy canes that hang on them. So, I'm pretty sure you get the point....I really like Christmas!
Well thats all I have to blog about today.

A little bit of everything...

Wow! Time flies! I haven't posted for a long time, but it only seems like a few days! My weekend in Ontario was really good. I got to see all my cousins again and visit with them. I went shopping with my girl cousins on Saturday and it was really fun! I bought lots of nice clothes! I got to see my mom's side of the family on Sunday which was good. I visited with my cousins and had some awesome apple pie!! Yumm! Thanks Oma! The dinner on Saturday night was really nice too! My grandparents were really happy (at least they seemed happy). After the big party we went to my oma and opa's house and we gave them a big gift basket full of goodies. Then I went to my Aunt Martha and Uncle Art's house and I had a sleepover with my cousins Kim and Karen. It was pretty fun. We watched a few movies and got a little bit of sleep.
Right now I'm sitting at the computer and I can see the trees beside the house outside the window! They're gorgeous! It snowed this morning or last night so they're all covered in snow! They look really nice!
Well, Christmas is almost here and everywhere you go, there's some kind of Christmas spirit. I love Christmastime. It's so happy and joyful. Here are some things I like about Christmas:
  • Christmas Trees
  • Snow
  • Advent Calendars
  • Cookies...decorating them and eating them
  • Eating good food
  • Christmas Dinners
  • Eggnog
  • Gingerbread houses
  • Spending time with family and friends

Well, that's all I have for today! I'll post more before Christmas for sure. :D

Wednesday, November 22, 2006

I am really bored right now, so I thought I'd post a little update. Things are good. School is going good. I am going to visit my reliatives in Ontario this weekend and I'm pumped. It's also expected to snow in the next few days and that's pretty exciting too! I love snow!! I'm ready for the cold too! I'm sick of this warm weather. It's supposed to be snowing and cold!?

Volleyball is pretty good as well. We won our game against Murdoch to qualify for play-offs and then we lost, so now we're on the "B" side. But I think we can win! We'll probably end up playing Cheif Peguis and they're not very good. We beat them last year for the B side final! And we won a banner! That was exciting.

But thats all for today! I'll keep you all posted.

Alisha....

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in so long. I've been busy with volleyball and school. This blog is called Alisha because I didn't know what to call it and my cousin Alisha is sitting beside me and she came up with it.

So anyway. I've been busy with volleyball. I had my last round robin game last Thursday and we lost. I have one last tounrament this Friday and then that's it.
School has been busy too. I've been having quite a bit of homework lately and I've been going places during my spare at lunch. Nowhere really far away, but I still don't do my homework during spare! That's boring!

On Friday, my friend Rachel had a birthday party sleepover that I went to. It was pretty fun. We watched three movies within the course of 12 hours. We watched Shes the Man, Just my Luck and High School Musical. We had lots of fun. We had a fire outside and we roasted hot dogs on the fire and we ate a volleyball cake! It was pretty good.

Well, thats all for now folks!

Ahhh....the snow....

This afternoon I had a volleyball game at MBCI, and guess what!? We lost. But anyways...on the way there (we got rides there) we went right through a red light because we couldn't stop. It was kind of creepy.
It's really slippery on the roads! We were coming home and we saw some guy run into a curb and we were slipping all over the place. I'm ready for this winter! I'm excited for it to be Christmas and have holidays and spend time with family and friends.
Anyway....thats all I have for today. I was just a little bored and I thought that I'd give everyone an update.

Pretty sucky day...

Well....today I had a Volleyball tournament and we pretty much bombed the whole thing. We lost every single set, but we played really good the first and third games. I felt like I played good. There are a few girls on my team that are not the greatest players, but they were pretty good today. I think that we could have beat at least two of the teams that were there, MBCI and Acadia. But we didn't and thats okay.

I'm supposed to be doing homework right now, but I got sick of it, so I'm gonna do it later. I have to type out a bunch of memoirs for Language Arts class. BORING!

This past week I only had three days of school because of the teacher's convention! It was pretty awesome. I went to the Food Grains Bank for a day, I had a bunch of friends over for a sleepover on Wednesday to Thursday, and then I made a bunch of awesome belts on Friday. And tonight I'm going to a birthday party. It's gonna be pretty fun I think.

WOW!

Okay....first of all, it feels like a really long time since I wrote on here. It's been eight days! Wow, time flies. Anyways, today I was at a Volleyball tournament for the varsity boys from my school. Two of my friends were scorekeeping for the whole tournament, so I stayed with them for pretty much the whole day. It was a very exciting tournament, but I don't think they did too well. But that's okay. Then the guys in my class had a tournament at a different school just across the road. I went to visit them with two of my friends. It was pretty fun. I think they came in 3rd or 4th place. They're pretty good. It was good to watch them. It's amazing how much people improve over one year.
Okay, so, we were at the tournament and my friend, Lori and I, were sitting at a table scorekeeping. The volleyball comes over because somebody bumped it and it was right above the table. So, they guy that was running for it, "didn't see the table", so he TOTALLY ran into it! It was pretty much one of the funniest things I've ever seen! The score card thingies were knocked right off the table and Lori was stunned. She just kind of sat there for a few seconds...really still, shocked I guess you could say. It was so funny! It made my day.
The other thing that made my day was some guy that was running to get the ball. He was running, running, running.....DIVE! He dove right into a row of chairs and onto a couple of people! It was also really funny.
Anyways, that's all I have for today. It was a pretty exciting day, I must say!

All the Family..

It's been a while since I wrote. In the past week quite a bit has happened. I went to school from Monday to Thursday and my mom let me have today, Friday off. Yesterday I found out that I made the Volleyball team!! I was excited, but not surpirsed because my coach said that this year she was going to put me left side (power) and some setter. One of my friends didn't make the team. She was really quite upset. I felt sorry for her. I hope she'll get over it and continue on with life (it sounds like a mid-life crisis or something, but it's not). Tonight we're having a pig roast at my house. It's going to be after the rehersal for my cousins wedding tomorrow. It'll be fun I'm sure!
Right now, I'm kinda cold and there are some people here. My opa was just talking to me about how to read my blog, and how he needs the website name. Anyways...my mom is in the kitchen preparing some salads for tonight and I'm on the computer. But now I think I'm going to go get something to eat and maybe have some hot chocolate (with milk). Yummm.

School...

School is still quite boring. The math classes are sooooo dry. They're so easy. There is one guy in my class and whenever we go over the examples in class he gets it. But then when we do our assignment, he goes, "I don't get it!", right away. Then the teacher responds, "It would probably help if you read the question, Ryan". We're talking about adding and subtractin polynomials!! BORING! Anyways...School is pretty good other than the math classes. Today we had a sub. for gym and that was kind of sucky because we had to play soccer outside. I'd much rather stay inside and play volleyball along with the rest of the class! Canadian Studies is a pretty boing class but it is getting better. Today we assigned groups to do the 6 regions of Canada. I'm with three classmates and they're all pretty smart. No dummy's who will ruin the project which is good. Enough about the dry school stuff. Let's get to the good stuff...

VOLLEYBALL! It's so much fun. Hanging out with friends, playing the best sport in the world, and the fact that I have and awesome coach. I really hope I make the team. I don't know why I wouldn't. I mean....I'm the best player on the team. HAHA...that's a joke. But I've got to be pretty close. We had our first try outs on Monday. They went pretty well. We had to do the tennis ball drill. I really dislike that drill, but it is a pretty good one. We have to do an approach like we were going to hit, and then we have to throw the tennis ball over the net into the opposite back corner. Anyways...like you care about what I did at volleyball practice. That's enough for today!

First Days of Grade 9...

My first two days of grade nine were pretty slow/boring. The math classes are so dull, the LA classes are quiet reading and grammar so far. The only fun things I did so far are we had to pretend we were in a boat as immigrants to Canada and we had to speak this really weird language called "beep bop", and we had gym class once and all we did was play volleyball. Those are really the only highlights of my first two days. I'm sure it will get better once I'm in the "school groove". I'm not feeling particularly well either, and I'm sure that's part of the reason it's kinda slow. I like all of my teachers except for two. I think that next semester will be better too. I'll have better teachers too. I'll have Madame Petkau (the French teacher), and I'll have Mr. Harris. They're both good/funny teachers. Anyways...I should probly go.
