I can't believe it has been a year and a half since I have last posted. So much has happened in the past year that I don't even know where to start.

First of all, I graduated high school and I am now currently in my second year of university at the University of Winnipeg as an aspiring teacher. I am not so much enjoying my classes at the moment because they are pretty common sense. If you have half a brain, it's pretty self explanatory.

Second, this summer was so much fun. Probably one of the best summers. I had a great job working at a drop in centre in Winnipeg's North End. I worked with kids for most of the summer, running a day camp. It was a challenge some days, but it was a great learning experience and I had a great time bonding with the kids.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4gsEJ-hTVlg/TqBHpG755-I/AAAAAAAAAGc/Lk_5w8Wm54c/s400/487.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5665607102794164194" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-49jwW4oraKo/TqBICCgXUnI/AAAAAAAAAGo/kb6MP42bXHY/s400/485.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5665607531101639282" />

I also went camping this summer at Hecla Island, and made a visit to James's family in Russell, MB. We went fishing and spent lots of time with the cousins.

I also went to Ontario to visit family and to mourn the loss of my grandfather. It was really good to be there and see everybody. It was a tough time, and it is an ongoing battle, but I am so glad I went. I have not been there for 2 years, so it was really good to visit with everyone and catch up.

I have recently just begun school again, and it is a bit slow, but I am happy to be in school. I am currently looking for a job, but I'm not having much luck because I have limited availability. I also became a youth leader at my church, helping out with youth every Tuesday night and every other Friday. So that's a good time.

The newest development in my life is my hopeful trip to Africa. My friend and I really want to go somewhere, hopefully Africa, to volunteer in an orphanage. We are having some troubles, though, deciding where to go and getting in contact with an organization. Because they are halfway across the world and in a different time zone, it's pretty difficult to get in contact with them.
Money is also another concern. We are hoping to go around May of 2012, so we don't have much time to get money. We have to plan a fundraiser and start saving our pennies, I guess!

Anyways, that's pretty much all I have to say for today. If you could keep my hopeful travels in your thoughts, that would be wonderful! :)

The Life of Chelsea Lately

Wow, time flies. It has been almost three months since I posted last and it feels like yesterday. So many things have been going on lately, and I have just not had any time to update here, so.. here it is:

- I had my last exam of high school ever today! Pretty exciting. I have my grad dinner on Monday night and convocation on May 12th.

- Easter week was crazy. I worked so much and school was so hectic. I cannot belive how many people need to buy copious amounts of meat for Easter. It was busier than Christmas! Crazy...

- Many of you have probably been wondering how the Oost residence out in Anola is progressing, especially those of you further away, so here are a few pictures.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Z9UELpWxmIA/S9DNjPwIwvI/AAAAAAAAAEg/AwGSFxwcX_I/s400/DSC03038.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463092353407959794" />
The driveway.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Z9UELpWxmIA/S9DOQaOtsKI/AAAAAAAAAEo/nBj3sxHRJPQ/s400/DSC03097.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463093129314676898" />
Some trusses.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Z9UELpWxmIA/S9DPYn755cI/AAAAAAAAAEw/hZyaRh38qFw/s400/DSC03101.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463094369944462786" />
A few of the boys.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Z9UELpWxmIA/S9DQEB5vg6I/AAAAAAAAAE4/hDNs4Old0Ig/s400/DSC03118.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463095115649090466" />
Beginning to look more like a building.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Z9UELpWxmIA/S9DQvz_AZyI/AAAAAAAAAFA/rZYGKpv2Rt0/s400/DSC03123.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463095867827316514" />
Metal siding!! Haha.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Z9UELpWxmIA/S9DSa5p1vZI/AAAAAAAAAFQ/9buOsWDlYA0/s400/DSC03144.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463097707595152786" />
Some of the interior.

- We have been very fortunate with the weather that we've had lately. It has been soo dry and soo warm. It is unusual weather for April, but we're not going to complain. We have only had a few really windy days, which is not the greatest, but that's about it!

- So, now that I'm finished school, I think I will go back to work after all my grad stuff is done and we are a little settled in in the new place. I am hoping to help my parents move next week and help out with what needs to be done.

- Anyways, not much to say, but I hope you enjoyed this! (those of you who still check this..haha)

In Loving Memory

With the Olympics coming to an end it was exciting and heart wrenching all at the same time. On Sunday morning, James and I made plans to watch the very exciting Canada vs. USA hockey game, but our day was cut short by a phone call on the way to church. A friend of his called him and said that a friend of theirs had been in a bad accident the night before and he was killed.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-
align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 200px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Z9UELpWxmIA/S4x8nF_sE6I/AAAAAAAAAEY/zvQJI1yGYms/s400/tyler.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5443863060650136482" />
Tyler Dacquay.

He was such a kind hearted guy and his life was cut much too short. He always had a smile on his face and knew how to make other people laugh. I will never forget sitting on my front lawn with Tyler, James and my parents, drinking iced tea and eating cookies after an afternoon of riding in the sand pits.
Even though I only spent a few days with him and didn't know him well, it has broken my heart. I experienced one of the hardest things to watch; James and all his friends mourn the loss of their great friend. I will never forget seeing James and his friends embracing each other. They have spent lots of time together in the past few days, which is good, and are continuing to do so throughout the week.

Please keep Tyler's family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

Tuesday Two...

I have not been very ambitious lately, but here are just two things...

1) I really do love that my school does not have substitute teachers. It has been over two months since I posted last, and so much has happened in those two months.

I had exams at the beginning of December. That was pretty stressful and a really hectic time. After exams I worked up until Christmas, and it was really busy. I guess people have to eat meat for Christmas! Haha.

Christmas was really good. It was good to finally relax for a few weeks after a month and a half of craziness. It was good to spend time with family and eat tons of good food. I went out to James's aunt and uncle's farm out in Russell for a few days between Christmas and New Years and went to Asessippi for a day. It was pretty fun, but it was pretty cold. It was good to visit with his cousins and his grandparents and eat more good food.

Between Christmas and New Years, one of my friends had her 18th birthday party. Eight of us went to Bucaccino's and had a great time all together.

I spent New Years mostly with James. We went to the Moose game in the early evening, and then headed back to the Postma residence for some eats and some tv. Later in the evening, we went to Kim and Nick's house and joined the festivities there. We played some games and just caught the tail end of some count-down on tv. It was really fun.

And that brings me to now. I'm back in school and into the normal routine of things. School is just the same old. I'm trying to work really hard these last two terms to boost my marks up as high as possible. Although I have applied and been accepted into the University of Winnipeg, I still want to get my marks up as high as possible. I have been accepted into the science program and more specifically into biology. I'm pretty excited to go to school for something that I actually want to study in the fall. A few of my friends have also been accepted into the U of W, so that should be fun.

Next is Mexico for Reading Week. I cannot wait! I'm so excited to go. This is thanks to James's parents being happily married for 25 years!!
After that comes the 18th birthday, the day after which a good friend from Germany comes to visit! I can't wait to see her!

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed my random ramblings!

Accomplished.

It sure does feel good when things get done.

Homework.
Cookies.
Vacuum.

Done. I have met all my teachers and they all seem pretty nice. The school is still the same old, but it's good to be back. It beats working.
I am glad to be back in school. Just one more year, then I can focus on what I want to do for a career and with the rest of my life. I can't wait to graduate. Should be good. I'm still not exactly sure what I want to do in university, but I have a few ideas. I originally wanted to go into human ecology, but I'm not so sure about that anymore. A few things tweeked my interest today, so we'll see where that goes.
Anyways, I don't really have any more energy to write, so I'll leave it at that today.

Enjoyed.

It is quite enjoyable when you wake up with a huge headache, later to find out that it's cloudy and cold outside.

But just as you think that your day is going to be a bad one, it takes a turn for the better. It's been so long I can't even remember all the things that have happened since my last post. Some things that have happened are:

1) I finished my spring session of school. I passed both Math and English. Makes my grade 12 year quite easy.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Z9UELpWxmIA/Sme-BgkQWzI/AAAAAAAAAC0/TkXpCMDCjFk/s400/027.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5361462814539012914" />

2) I went to possibly one of the most amazing concerts ever; Coldplay.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Z9UELpWxmIA/Sme_Hdz5pnI/AAAAAAAAAC8/GiWUgqWvIE4/s400/166.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5361464016390170226" />

3) James graduated! Maybe one of the saddest airport experiences I've ever had.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Z9UELpWxmIA/SmfDF0Cr9gI/AAAAAAAAADc/CxjFF_N0l80/s400/001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5361468386044540418" />

5) I went to the Winnipeg Folk Festival and it was fantastic. It was a little bit chilly, but I'm not complaining. It was a lovely weekend.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Z9UELpWxmIA/SmfBXYPAMtI/AAAAAAAAADU/1xJYwUWqOzU/s400/folk+fest+-+liz+jen+chels.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5361466488794395346" />

6) I got a full time job at the Deli on Narin. The one with the cows on top. :) I slice lunch meat and sell people steaks and pork chops and stuff. I sold some pig feet today, quite disgusting...

7) I got my first pay check today and it was lovely!

And other than that I haven't been up to much. I'm working quite a bit now, which keeps me occupied. There are some things I'm looking forward to in the somewhat near future, though:

1) August long weekend. Don't have any plans, but hopefully I'll be able to do something fun and exciting.
2) Going back to school! I can. not. wait. to go back. I'm so excited for my last year. I can't wait to graduate and move on! I'm also looking forward to it because my cousin, Joey, will be attending the Collegiate for his first year!
3) Going to Ontario this winter for my cousin's wedding. It will be good to go back and visit family. I haven't been to Ontario for quite some time.

Sorry for the lack of posts, but I just have no ambition to write anything. I never know where to start or what to write about...

At Last

After about 16 hours of straight rain, it has finally stopped. I just haven't had ambition to write a blog when I have the time.

Life has been pretty average lately. My mom is in Mexico right now on a missions trip with my old school, and we are stuck here in this snowy, wet, flooding mess. My dad said the other day that they may come home to a closed highway, which is very possible.

I can't believe all of this snow that has fallen in the past few days. It's crazy! There is so much everywhere! Yesterday morning on my way to school, I got stuck getting out of the driveway. My dad was confident that the car could make it through the 18 inch drift in front of the garage door, but it couldn't. Luckily, James was there to get it out. :) It's time for another snowboarding trip! Haha.

I have been snowboarding quite a bit this year. It's been really fun. I've been going with friends of mine from school, and some from my old school as well. I've been to Asessippi, Holiday and Falcon thus far. It would be nice to go once more since all of this nice fluffy snow fell, but I don't think it's going to happen. Anyways, here are a few pictures from my various trips.

<img Things must be busy, as the Christmas season always is.

School has been a bit crazy lately. I feel like I have been so unproductive the past few weeks, though, I have two exams down, and only three left to go. Then it's off to Asessippi, and into the cold. It is already cold, but when we are going out there, it's supposed to be just as cold. I may end up being a wuss and staying back because I don't really want to freeze my butt off. I hope I can go for at least one day, though.

In the midst of studying and school work last weekend, I did manage to help my mom paint Nick's old room, so I can hopefully move in there sometime soon. I'm pretty excited. It's really dark chocolate brown, with one tan coloured wall. Today my mom and I went and bought fabric for a duvet cover. It's an animal type print, with a dark brown corduroy border.

I'm pretty excited for Christmas to come. I can't wait to go to Pinewood and spend time with family and eat lots of good food. :) It should be good.

Anyways, that's all my news for today.

Busy, Busy, Busy...

Well, that's it, busy. I feel like I have been really busy lately, but the other day I looked back on the week that had just passed and I didn't know what it was that was keeping me busy. School is pretty intense right now because exams start next week. This week is the week that teachers like to demand huge essay's and assignments. I don't understand why. Just to make their students' lives miserable?

The snow is beautiful. It is snowing outside right now and it is lovely. It looks so fluffy and nice. I can't wait for our first big dump of the year.

Speaking of snow...a snowboard trip has already been planned. I am going out to Asessippi from a Thursday to a Monday and staying with James' aunt and uncle. They live about 10 minutes drive from the hill, which is nice. It will also be nice to visit with his family again. They're fun.

I cannot wait for Christmas. Pinewood is going to be a lot of fun. Being close to extended family is a gift.

Anyways, those are my random thoughts for today. I should probably get started on my English homework.

Friends...

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Z9UELpWxmIA/SRm_VahlFBI/AAAAAAAAAB8/Cw3_0_cWFdU/s400/376.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5267451613804827666" />

School Update.

I started school a few weeks ago. I was pretty nervous the first two days because I didn't really know my way around the campus and it's huge. I also didn't have any friends, so I felt like a bit of a loner. Friends came pretty easily though. My very first day of school, in my second class, I met a girl who is an exchange student from Germany. She is pretty sweet. She and I just kind of hung out together and then eventually most of the international students became friends with us. There is about 10 or 15 of us now.
I went through a lot of course changes because I didn't want to take art, and physics was boring. I have a huge spare today because I had a math test before lunch, so I was done a half hour early. So, my spare is dragging on. I've been out of classes since 10:45 this morning, and my next class starts at 2. I met Karmen, my boyfriends sister, in the hallway and she said she was going to visit her mom at CBC, so I went with her to visit. We stayed there for a bit and then we went for a nice little drive. And now I'm back at school. I did a bit of homework, but I got a bit distracted.
Not much else has been going on in my life right now. I started violin lessons last week, or the week before. I can't remember. It's been pretty alright. I have had quite a bit of homework, so I haven't practiced much. I'm looking forward to this year of violin more because I'm actually doing fiddle stuff. I am borrowing my cousin Micah's fiddle book in exchange for my grade three exam books. So it's working out pretty well.
Anyways, I should probably get back to homework before I have class.

Let me start with yesterday. Yesterday I went to the University of Winnipeg for orientation. It was pretty good, but there were a few weird people there. I had two nice tour guides that gave me the grand tour of the Collegiate/University. I know my way around somewhat now. Hopefully I won't get lost too many times. Anyways, after that I went to visit Heather Wells, my boyfriend James' mom, at CBC (she works there and does the morning news updates). I got a grand tour of CBC from a friend of Heather's. I watched Janet Stewart do the 'noon minute update'. It was cool. I left CBC and went to James' house for a little while and then went out for lunch to Moxies. Quite an eventful day, I'd say.

So, today was my first day of classes at University of Winnipeg Collegiate. I only had two classes today, art and biology. Art was a bit boring, and I think I am going to change it for physics because I don't think I will do well in art. I haven't been in an actual art class since grade seven, so I'm 'out of shape' in the art department. Biology was quite interesting. Most of the things we discussed today were review, but it was a whole different view of how science is taught in different places. It was quite a bit less awkward than art. In art hardly anybody talked and it was mostly new people, so it was pretty quiet. Biology was a different story. There were probably about ten or twelve new people, but most people knew each other, so there was chatter almost the entire class. There are three international students in my biology class. One who is from Mexico, one from Brazil, and one from Germany. The girl from Germany, Louisa, was very nice. I sat beside her and had a nice chat with her at break. I hope that tomorrow goes as well as my biology class did. I liked it a lot.

Today I found out that my music teacher from Spirited Music that I had last year is coming back! At the end of last year he said that he would probably not be returning, but now he's back! He's the best violin teacher I've had so far. I'm pretty excited about it, but I hope he doesn't want to teach me more classical stuff and Suzuki stuff. Fiddle is much more fun.

Well, that's all my exciting news! I'll keep you all posted on how I'm enjoying school!

Scattered Thoughts

First of all, Ontario was great! Eric, Joey, and I had so much fun together. We visited with my grandparents, some family friends, and a few cousins. We made a few fun stops like Canada's Wonderland, where we rode some pretty crazy roller coasters, and Dave's Guitar Shop, which was one of the most impressive guitar shops I've ever seen. Even though I don't play guitar that much, I thought it was quite impressive.

Second, our house has been on the market for two months now, and today I was browsing for property south of Winnipeg, and I found a really nice river property. I want to live south of the city really badly, but it all depends on if our house sells and how my parents feel about living there. Hopefully they're cool with that...

Third, I'm still feeling a little bit nervous about school. I went back to school shopping last week with my mom and got all the stuff I need. Now I just have to wait...

Anyways, that's just some random stuff on my mind right now. Not too much is goin' on. I haven't felt very inclined to write anything lately.

Living the Summer Life...

Wow! I can't believe that it's already August! Where has the summer gone?! I feel like I haven't done anything productive at all this summer. All I've really been doing is hanging out with friends and sitting around like a bum. At least, that's what it feels like. I think August will be a little more exciting.
This weekend I'm flying out to Ontario with another cousin and we're driving back to Winnipeg with another cousin...I'm pretty excited. We're doing some fun things like hanging out with friends of the family, and going to Canada's Wonderland. I think it will be really fun.
I have some other things that are in the works of being sorted out, so perhaps some of them will work out and keep me occupied.
This summer I have given reading a second chance. I really used to hate reading, but the only reason I read was because I had to for school. I'm reading books that I actually enjoy now and it makes a world of a difference.
I've been thinking about school starting in September more than I normally do because I'm going to a new school. I'm a bit nervous, but quite excited. I think it will be a good change. My schedule is packed full of educational goodness. Haha! The way the schedule works at the University of Winnipeg Collegiate is pretty neat. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are all the same and Tuesdays and Thursdays are the same. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I have a full schedule packed full of English, Precal, Chemistry, and History, but on Tuesdays and Thursdays I only have Art and Biology with the afternoons off! I'm especially excited about the fact that I'm done at the the end of May and I may be going to England! Hopefully that happens!
Anyways, not too much has been going on lately, just...life.

A Good Start :)

Oh boy! This blogging dealio is not the greatest for me. So much has happened since the last time I posted.

1) My brother Nick got married a few weeks ago, which was really good. I got to see most of my family from Ontario which was great, and I gained a sister in law! The whole wedding week was very busy, but it was really good. It was a lot of fun to hang out with all of my family that I haven't seen for a really long time.

2) I went to the University of Winnipeg Collegiate for a meeting about my course selection for next year. I was a bit nervous going into it, but it turned out to be really good. The schedule is pretty sweet. I have Tuesday and Thursday afternoons off, and I don’t have to go to school in May and June if I don’t want to! I’m pretty excited. The only thing I'm nervous about is the building itself. It's huge and I feel like I'm never going to know my way around it!

3) I went to the Winnipeg Folk Festival this weekend and it was very good. Some of the best performers I saw there were: The Weakerthans, J.P. Hoe, Calexico, The Beautiful Girls, The Acorn, Apostle of Hustle, Michael Franti and Spearhead, and Hayden. The weather was the sucky party of the weekend. On Friday and Saturday it rained pretty much all day and it was very windy and only about 14 degrees. It was a challenge to stay dry and warm. Overall it was a very good weekend though. The music is worth it.

4) I am planning to go to Ontario at the beginning of August to do some fun stuff with two amazing cousins of mine. We are going on a 'road trip' back to Winnipeg from Southern Ontario. I think it will be very fun. Travelling is a blast!

Anyways, that's all that's new in my life at this point. I'll try to keep my blog more up to date than I have been!

Two things...

Two names you go by:
1. Some significant things that have happened are:
- I had my last day at Calvin Christian Collegiate,
- I had my last day of grade 10 yesterday,
- I have completely decided to go to the University of Winnipeg Collegiate! Woohoo!

I'm very excited to go to the Collegiate next year, but a bit nervous. When I moved here with my family four years ago, I thought school would be okay, but it really sucked at first. The first week I went to Calvin I cried almost every day on the way there. I had no friends, therefore, no one to talk to. I eventually did make friends, and now I am very close to a few of them. I will miss them, but I think the transition will be good. High school is different than middle school. I think it will be a bit easier this time around.
Nick and Kim's wedding is fast approaching! I am very excited for it! I cannot wait to see my relatives from Ontario. I think it will be a very fun day.
The Winnipeg Folk Festival is very soon too. I'm excited about that each year too because it's like a little mini vacation. It's hot and sunny, there's good music, and you eat a heck of a lot. It's beautiful.
Last note: I had my first exam this morning. It was Geography. I think I did pretty good. I'm glad I only have two left! I think I'm going to go and suntan outside for a bit now!

Beautiful!

I was just sitting outside today in the trees beside my house and as I was sitting there the sun was warming my body from the outside in, and the birds were singing their own songs, and there was a soft cool breeze. Just a few hours previous there was a thunderstorm. How can things go from tremendous downpour and rumbling to bright sunshine and warmth in just a few hours? It amazes me. It truly is great, and the One who does it is truly powerful.

On a completely separate note. The school year is almost finished! I'm really excited for this summer because there are a number of very exciting events taking place. First off, my brother Nick is getting married in exactly four weeks. I'm pretty excited. I think it is going to be really fun. A lot of my family is coming from Ontario and I haven't seen them in quite a while, so it will be fun to catch up with them.
Second, the Winnipeg Folk Festival is fast approaching. That is always an amazing weekend of doing nothing: eating, relaxing, listening to amazing music, and being outside for three long days.
School is going well. I still haven't completely decided what I'm going to do next year for school. There has been a lot of stupid teenage drama throughout my grade lately and I'm really sick of it. I think it would be a good transition if I left next year, because then I would still have two full years to make new friends and the transition into university would be quite easy.

I was recently in Chicago for a band/arts trip with school. It was a lot of fun. We went to the Blue Man Group the first night we were there and it was so cool. They are very interesting people to watch. The only thing I didn't like about that was the mushed up banana that we got sprayed with. We were sitting in the first three or four rows, which are called "poncho seats" because you get things sprayed on you. Other than that it was pretty cool. We also went to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra which was kind of boring, but they were really really good. There was a violin soloist who played with the Symphony the second half, who was amazing. The thing that wrapped it all up was the Midieval Times dinner theater. It was so much fun. We got so into the spirit and we had a blast. On the way back to the hotel we sang the entire way back. It was really fun. Here a just a few pictures of my adventure:
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Z9UELpWxmIA/SEGitSUDA_I/AAAAAAAAABA/a8y3GKIXGCM/s400/chicago+122.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206621543110738930" />This is a picture of "the bean". In the past month I have had an amazing youth retreat at Bird River Bible Camp, I turned sweet sixteen, there is a new animal in my house (a bird), I got my beginners licence, and I went to Fargo for Spring Break.

The youth retreat was good. I went to Bird River Bible Camp for a weekend, Friday to Sunday, with leaders and friends, and we learned more about God and reflected on our walk with Him. We did the stations of the cross, which is a series of stations that help remind you of what Christ went through for us. These stations are always one of the best parts of the retreat because they are well done. This year they were really well done. I was also on the best team ever, Team Hot Rod, which was based on the movie. It was pretty sweet.

I turned sixteen on the 26th, and on the same day I got my beginners licence, so now I can drive with a family member. It's pretty exciting. I like driving. My birthday and Fargo were associated with each other. The majority of my birthday present was going down to the States and going shopping with my aunt Linda, cousin Kristen, and my mom. We all had a good time and spent lots. :)

I think I've made up my decision for schools next year. I think I'm going to stay at Calvin because I will have good teachers next year that I like. It also seems like the University of Winniped Collegiate focuses more on the arts, rather than the maths and sciences. I would much rather do math and science than English. Anyways, I hope I don't regret my decision and it works out well.

That's all that's been going on in my life for the past month...

Alone on a Friday night, with nothing to do, no one to talk to.

As you probably figured out already, I'm home by myself on a Friday night, with nothing to do and no one to talk to. I'm a little frustrated because I was supposed to do something with someone tonight, but we just couldn't get the plans together. It's somebody that I haven't seen for the past week, won't see all of this week until Friday, and I really want to spend time with.

Life seems like it has been really busy lately, but I don't think it has been. I've just been really tired. I guess all of the sleep I've missed in the past month has finally caught up with me. Lately School has just felt like something that I've had to force myself to go to. I don't want it to be that way because it will just make me not want to further my education in college or university, which I should proably do if I want to get a decent job. That brings me to my next point about chaning schools.

My parents and I went to the University of Winnipeg Collegiate open house on Wednesday night. It was really good and I was quite impressed, but it was a bit overwhelming too. I got the impression that it would be really difficult because they have so many helps. All of the teachers have offices that they are in between specific hours if students need help. They have a tutor who will schedule you in, whenever, for whatever subject and help you. They also have teacher/student meetings, where a teacher will sit down with the student and just ask how school is going. They do this three times per semester. The school itslef is also fairly large and I felt like it was a huge maze when they took us on the tour. I'm sure I would get used to that though.
I told my mom today that she should make a meeting with one of the Dean's from the school just see what the options are and how to plan for a post secondary education. I think that it would be really good for me to go here because they move at a much faster pace, so it wouldn't be as boring and not as much time would be wasted in class. The semesters are like university semsters, from September to December, and then from January to the end of April. I think that's a pretty sweet deal. They say that you need to be self motivated, and I think I am. I think I could do it.

My birthday is coming up soon and I will be turning 16. I think that this will be a pretty important birthday beacuse I will probably be leaving Calvin in September, therefore it will be the last with my friends. I was originally going to go to Pinewood, where we normally go for Christmas break with our family, but then another 'oportunity' came up. Nick has to go to Minneapolis for work, so my mom and I asked if we could come along. He asked his boss if that would be alright, and he said that it was fine. So, for spring break, my mom, Nick, Kim and I will be heading down to Minneapolis. Nick for work, the rest of us for a break and probably some shopping.
So instead of having an awesome birthday party at Pinewood, I'll probably just have a mediocore one at my house, and then head out to Minneapolis. I already have some sweet ideas for it, so it should still be pretty fun. Anyways, I'm going to go find something else to do for the rest of the night...

Monthly Update...haha!

Wow, time flies! I suck at this whole keeping my blog updated thing. Anyways, I had a good Christmas. I went to Pinewood Lodge with my family. That was pretty fun. School's been pretty good. I just had my last exam today. I'm so glad that they're finally done! It feels like I've been writing exams for weeks, but really I've only had 4 this week, one every day so far.

My mom has been in Ontario for the past week, so life's been different. I don't really like being the only girl in the house. I feel like I do everything! Now I know how my mom feels, and I think I'll appreciate what she does even more. She's coming home tonight which I'm pretty excited about. She said that she'd bring me droopies back from the awesome Dutch Shop there. She was also going to see about getting some purple fabric for a new quilt that I want to make. I am planning to move my room downstairs when Nick moves out this summer and I want to paint it purple. Not like a sick, ugly purple, but like a rich, deep purple. Purple Haze... Anyways, I want to make a sweet purple quilt that will match it.

Well that's pretty much it. I don't really have anything else new or exciting in my life right now.

Snow...

I love the snow! It has been soo hard to get out of bed every morning. Every day this week I arrived at school later. I don't even know if I'll make it there tomorrow! Haha, of course I will. I can't say it's going to be very exciting though. Today at school we had a sled building contest for the best cardboard sled built on top of a crazy carpet. Tomorrow we are going to some hill to 'race' them and just to have a good time tobogganing. I am also going caroling tomorrow morning for first class. It will be alright, I guess. I'm getting out of math class, so that's good. Haha.

Right now I'm so comfy and happy because I'm wearing this ginormous hoodie that my whole volleyball team got this year. It has my volleyball number and last name on it. It's super comfy. I am also listening to the song "Bubbly" by Colbie Caillat. It is a great song. I like it a lot. I am not feeling that great though. This morning I woke up at like ten to six and my throat hurt so much! Then I got up for a bit and then I went back to bed but I couldn't sleep because my throat hurt so much. I couldn't really eat this morning either. I ate half of a piece of toast and felt like garbage, so I didn't eat anything else. I am feeling a bit better now though, my throat is still sore though.

I love Christmastime. It's so happy and joyful. Most people are in good moods. I can't wait to get together with family and eat good food and talk a bunch and go to Pinewood Lodge! That's going to be so good. A hot tub, a pool, a steam room, skating, doing nothing all day, watching movies, etc... :) Anyways, that's what I've been up to and what I'm looking forward to!

A new post!

I know it’s been forever since I last posted and I’m sorry for those of you who are faithful blog readers. I have been really busy in the past two and a half months. I’ve been playing volleyball for school. We just won our AAA division on Monday! We are now off to provincials on the 29th of this month. Volleyball is a busy sport when you get up to the varsity level. Things are waayy more competitive than in junior high. I have games on Monday’s and Wednesday’s, practices on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s and tournaments on the weekends. It’s been crazy. I am also taking violin lessons on Monday’s for those of you who did not yet know that. I have been taking them for two years, this being my third.
School’s going pretty good. It’s kind of boring at times, but it’s alright. I’ve realized that I really don’t like school this year. Last year it was good, but the year before in grade eight was amazing. That was probably my favourite school year. I wish every grade could be like grade eight where you wouldn’t have to worry about your marks too much and you could just goof off in class and the teachers don’t really mind. This semester is going to be pretty hard at the end because I have four exams! I’m really not looking forward to that. My next semester in the new year will be easier, I think.
Anyways, that’s what has been happening in my life over the past ‘little’ while. :)

This is probably my last blog before I start the new school year. That is kind of sad. I will miss the summer. It just flew by so fast, probably because I had so much fun. Camp was amazing and I'm so glad that I decided to go. These past two weeks I have been at home and it has been pretty boring. Our computer is broken, and I am at my aunt and uncles house right now writing this blog. All I have done, really is listen to music all day. I did hang out with my friends for a few days and I saw a movie with my cousin. But that's about it.
I start school on Wednesday, grade 10. I'm excited to see all of my friends again, but I'm not looking forward to the working part or the waking up early part. Anyways...that's all of my news.

Randomness...

Wow! It's been so long since I posted last. I've been at camp pretty much for the whole summer. This week is my first full week at home. It's been kind of boring because the computer is broken and no one else in my family is home. Music has been my last 2 days pretty much.
So, camp's been pretty good. I had two of my favourite cabins in the last two weeks. They were so much fun. I don't have much else to say about camp. Oh, except for this past weekend. It was the staff weekend, so quite a few of the staff stayed at the camp and we jut messed around the whole weekend. On Saturday night we went to Tulabi Falls and jumped off a cliff there into water that was about 40 ft deep. It was a lot of fun. On Sunday we had church there and that was good. There were quite a few people there. I went home on Sunday afternoon and I didn't really do anything the rest of the day. Yesterday I didn't do much either because the computer is broken and it wouldn't turn on!! I went to my aunt and uncle's house for supper and it was sooo good! I haven't had a home-cooked meal in a long time. It was amazing. Thanks aunt Linda! :)

Camp...

So, the past three weeks I have been at camp, Bird River Bible Camp. It's been really fun. The first week was pretty hard. It was a youth week. There were lots of bad campers, who showed no respect, but then again, how are they supposed to know respect if they don't get it at home? Anyways, the first week I had sessions with the 7 other CIT's, Matt, Keegan, Mike, Kimberley, Kimmi, Naomi, and Katelyn. They were about growing spiritually and preparing us spiritually for our camp experience. That week we also cleaned bathrooms and did dishes after every meal. It was kind of sucky at first, but after a while you just got used to it. I had fun.
The second week was pretty much the same thing. The sessions were more about different types of campers and what to do with them. We still had to clean bathrooms and do dishes. That week we also got to help out with some skill sessions. I helped with basketball. It was pretty alright. The first basketball session was really hard because I was the only councilor there for about 15 minutes and the kids were running around and getting on the biking peoples bikes and they started disappearing. The second one was MUCH better. That weekend I ended up going to Kenora with a friend. She is the lifeguard at camp and I slept in the same cabin as her for two weeks, so I got to know her quite well. In Kenora, we went to see Husky the Musky fish and the tugboat across the road. We went downtown and went shopping. It was a good time.
This past week I was in a cabin with Kristin and Kimberley. It was really fun. I had an awesome time, therefore I am going back next week, and possibly two more weeks in August. I'm hooked. I also saw a bear cub this week. It was on Thursday, and it was on top of the garbage container right by the Dining Hall where we eat. Everyone was sent inside because of it. I didn't have to do anything that day. I only had one basketball skill session, but the whole bear incident was during that. It was pretty awesome.
Next week it is kids week and I am in a cabin again. It's gonna be so fun! I can't wait. Then the next week after that is volleyball camp for me! I'm so pumped! I love volleyball and I can't wait to see my friends that I'm going with!
Oh yeah! Then there was FOLK FESTIVAL!!! It was amazing. I had so much fun. I got to see all of my family and some friends from church, and listen to awesome music all weekend! I also ate super good food and drank amazing lemonade.
So, now I'm home again for the weekend. I already ate so much good food and I haven't even been home for 24 hours. Ahh, I love home, but camp is awesome too. Last week when we came back from Kenora, we drove into the camp driveway and it was like coming home. It was so weird.

Yum!

I just had my first few sweet peas of the year. I just love the Forks because there are always so many interesting people there. There are always musicians, entertainer guys, clowns, and the drawing guy (a guy who walks around and draws people). There was a dog show or something going on last night, so there were a lot of dogs there. We saw this HUGE dog, I'm not sure what kind of dog it was, but it was massive! It was a little over three feet tall, weighed about 160lbs, and was not even two years old! It was probably one of the coolest dogs I've ever seen.

As for the dinner. It was for the Canadian Food Grains Bank. It went well, despite just a few little dilemmas. The power went out at one point, but we had all the food cooked and prepared at home already. The mic was a bit of a problem then though. In the end it all worked out just fine.

I am on my last strech of school. My last acual school day was on Tuesday, but my last exam is tomorrow. I had my science exam on Wednesday and I had my Bible exam today. The science one was pretty easy, but the Bible was a little tricky. I just studied the wrong stuff. I have French tomorrow, which I think will be easy because the questions are in English and we are allowed to have a French/English dictionary with us. I am soo ready to be done!

Camp is coming really soon too! I'm pretty excited for it, but also a little nervous because it's my first time at an actual camp camp, not a sports camp. I'm pretty sure it will be a good time. I also cannot wait for Volleyball camp. I'm going with a bunch of friends and I think we will have an awesome time together. Folk Fest is almost here also. It's gonna be awesome this year. :)

Beautiful.

Today was a beautiful day! It was sunny then cloudy and then it stayed sunny for the rest of the day. It's kind of too bad that I was inside most of the day. It was a good day though. There was a shower for Paul and Melissa's baby, Nicholas today at the church. It was really fun and there was lots of good desserts. :) I enjoyed it.

I was on the Winnipeg Folk Festival website (http://www.winnipegfolkfestival.ca/) today and it's only 19 days until Folk Festival. They also have the daytime schedules up!! I can't wait! It's going to be a good time! I really do talk about this a lot on my blog, but it is an awesome part of my summer and it's so much fun. It's like a little mini vacation, but only about 5 minutes away from my house. You basically just sit there and listen to good music and eat good junky food all weekend. It's awesome.

Right now, I am sitting here at the computer in really comfy clothes and my MOM is mowing the lawn!! That's a shocker! My dad just taught her today! The window's are open so I can smell the freshly cut grass and it smells so good. It's so peaceful out here in the country. I think that everyone should live in the country for a while. The sun is setting slowly and the house is casting a big shadow almost to the road. It's so beautiful.

Truly a beautiful day!

Again...

Here I am sitting at the computer, again. It's raining outside, again. It's supposed to rain tomorrow, again. Sure the rain is refreshing when it's dry, but having rain for almost two weeks straight! We did have a beautiful weekend though. But now it's raining....again.
This weekend my aunt Didy and uncle Jake drove here to Winnipeg with my grandparents. Though they didn't stay long, it was good to see them again. My oma and opa left this morning. It was a short but good visit.

I am pretty pumped about camp at the beginning of July. I think it will be really fun and a great learning experience.

Last night at youth, I found out that Paul and Melissa, two of my youth leaders, had their baby. His name is Nicholas and he is VERY cute, and looks like Paul (I just saw pictures). :) I can't wait to see him and hold him. Ahh, I love babies. They're so joyful and warm and snuggly.

School is coming to a close. That is a good thing, for me at least. I can't wait for the summer. Although exams are coming, I am excited for them to be over. This summer's going to be awesome. Here are just a few highlights:

Bird River

Folk Festival

Volleyball camp

Swimming

Just being able to relax and not do anything!

Sunday is the youth wrap up party. We are going swimming at my aunt Linda and uncle Wes' house and having a barbeque (I think). I'm pretty sure it's going to be a ton of fun.

Well, that's all my news. I hope you readers all have good week!

Awesome.

My mom bought me a Folk Fest ticket a few days ago. I'm not sure when exactly I'll be there, but I'm hoping for a few days! I am going to Bird River after much thought. I'll be gone from the 2nd to the 22nd minus weekends (I think). I'm pretty excited. I'm going with a friend from chuch (I think I already said that in a previous post).
There are approximately 13 days of school left before I start exams. I'm pretty excited. I'm so ready for school to be over! There are 35 days left until Folk Fest! I'm soo pumped. I can't wait. I really hope I'll be able to go on Friday night! My fingers are crossed.

The month of May and some stuff coming up...

Wow, it's been almost a month since I last posted. Time sure does fly. I can't really remember EVERYTHING that has happened in the last month, but I can remember most.
I have finally decided to go to Bird River Bible Camp this summer for the first three weeks of July. I'm pretty excited. I'm going with Kim, a friend from church, and Sarah will also be there. They're both pretty awesome people if you ask me! The little down side to going to camp is that I don't know if I'll be able to go to Folk Festival. I sure hope I can come home for that weekend on Friday night so I can catch Saturday and Sunday.
There are only 19 official school days left before exams start. That's kind of scary, but awesome at the same time. I don't really like exams very much, but really, who does!? I wish we had exemptions. I was talking to my mom the other day and she said that when she was in high school, the exam exemption grade was 60%!! That's insane! Anyways, I'm sure I'll survive and get through them.

Coming up:

This weekend I am helping my mom and my aunt Michele with a little catering job.

On Saturday night I have a friend's birthday party to go to; we're going lazer tagging!

Exams - kind of sucky

Bird River Bible Camp - we are supposed to ask seven people to pray for us as we serve at camp this summer and that the whole camp in general seeks to minister effectively to many campers. So, if you could do that for me that would be wicked awesome! Thanks!

Hopefully at least one day of Folk Festival.

And one last thing, Athletes in Action Volleyball Camp for the first week of August. I'm going with a few friends; it's gonna be pretty sweet.

I have to go eat some supper now. Oh, and I just realized that the blog thing saves what you're typing every minute! That's awesome.

pretty awesome day....

Today I went to the church with my dad and brother, Tom, to clean out the back "yard" and to put a wall up in the TYN room. There was A LOT of sand in the back and we piled it all up with the tractor and loaded it up in Johnny's trailer and he took it to his place. There are still at least 2 more loads of sand to be taken away, and the whole back needs to be swept and maybe hosed down.
As for the TYN room, the wall is all up, and all the ugly green tape is off the walls/ceiling/baseboards from painting. That was a lot of work to take that all off. It was so stuck on there because it's been on there for so long. The wall still needs to be taped and puttied, but if we just left it like it is now, it looks 100 times better than it did. We also got rid of a really ugly cabinet that the doors were falling off of. We got about 3 full garbage bags full of crap out of it. Pretty soon, it's going to be the nicest room in the church and the back "yard" behind the church will become a basketball court! :) Paul and Tim, youth leaders, are pretty excited about this whole thing. It's going to be wicked awesome.
Anyways, enough about my awesome fun day. On Thursday night I went to the John Mayer concert. IT WAS SOOO GOOD!!! He's amazing. He was soo good. On the way home Tom and I heard two of his songs on the radio and there is no comparison to his awesome concert!
Other than that, I have no news. That's everything exiting that has happened in my life for the last 3 days.

ciao

The Poem about Rain

I found this poem a few days ago when it was raining and I liked it. I think I say that almost every time I post something new. hehe. Anyways, I don't have much to blog about, but I thought I should update. Right now I'm sick. I stayed home on Wednesday and Thursday because I felt really crappy. I'm getting better now though. An aquaintance(don't know if that's spelled right) of mine that I go to school with has 2 or 4 Justin Timberlake concert tickets and my friend and I were thinking of buying them. I think we're going to! I'm pretty excited. I have John Mayer tickets which is this Thursday and I am most likely going to Folk Festival this summer too! And then JT is on the 25 or 26 of August! :)
It's been beautiful outside this week! On Wednesday I layed(<--is that right?? or is it laid?) outside in the sun and suntanned for about 2 hours because I was sick. It was very nice and relaxing. It's so nice outside today to! Even though it's a little overcast, it's still really warm and the sun peaks through the clouds every once in a while.

Countdown/stuff that's coming up:

John Mayer on Thursday!!

Folk Festival - 75 days!

Possibly being a CIT at BRBC (Bird River Bible Camp)

Athletes in Action Volleyball camp the first week of August

Possibly the Justin TImberlake concert

That's it!! Sorry it wasn't sooner. I turned 15 on the 26th of March. It was a good birthday. I had a 16 part harmony "Happy Birthday" song, and a delicious blizzard ice cream cake from Dairy Queen.
I also just got back from my cousins wedding in Ontario on Monday. That was a blast. I had such a great time. We shut the place down on the night of the wedding. We partied till everyone else left. It was great. I went shopping with my cousin and my brother's girlfriend. That was fun. I got a few pairs of flip flops and a cute dress from American Eagle. I can't wait for summer to come so I can wear it.
I'm back at school now. It's okay. The frist day back after Ontario was really hard though. Today was surprisingly better than expected. I had badminton practice this afternoon that I didn't know about until this morning and I was really dreading it. But it turned out to be fine. It was quite fun. Tomorrow is a really slack day. I have shops in the morning and then I have a 2.5 hour spare and then Bible class, which is fun most of the time because it's Harris.
That's all my news though.

The countdown!!

22 days until the John Mayer concert

92!! days until Winnipeg Folk Festival 2007! woo hoo!

Can't think of an appropriate title...

I'm sitting here at home by myself. I don't really know what to write, but its been a long time. I went snowboarding two Saturdays ago and I wiped out pretty bad. I knocked myself out and I scraped up my face really good! I don't really remember if it hurt or not because I can't remember it. I got two days off of school and hardly any homework out of the deal though! My face is pretty good now. It just looks like I got some sunburn.
Right now it's really cold outside, -16 C to be exact. It's cold! And then they go and tell us that it's going to be +7 C on Wednesday! I don't believe it. It is really sunny outside right now though. It's nice. Sorry to keep you all waiting so long. Not too much has happened in the last month or so. It's spirt week this week at my school. Nothing really exciting. I had chapel today and it was really boring and the music was horrible!
The plans I have for the next little while are as follows:

Snowboarding at Assessippi on Saturday

My dad and Tom are going on a mission trip to Mexico on the 17th (not that that involves me)

I'm not sure about the weekend of the 24th. I was planning on having a birthday party with my friends that weekend, but then I got a really awesome offer from my Aunt Michele to go to a hotel with them. So, I think the birthday party can wait.

On the 29th, my mom and I will be flying to Ontario for my cousin's wedding. I can't wait, I'm so excited!

And the countdowns for the rest of my exciting plans are: (as of today)

19 Days until my Birthday

22 Days until I go to Ontario

50 Days until the John Mayer concert

120 Days until Winnipeg Folk Festival 2007!

That's all my exciting news! :)

JOHN MAYER! :-)

JOHN MAYER IS COMING TO WINNIPEG!! I am so excited. I went with my brother, Tom, today and we went to buy tickets. I am really excited. It's on April 26, so it's a bit of a wait.

I thought about what the year 2007 is going to be like today. I think it's going to be a really good year. First of all, I learned how to snowboard and it was really fun. I have a youth retreat at Bird River Bible camp next weekend that I'm really excited about. In March, I'll be turning the big 15 and I'll be able to get my beginners license in September. That is a little bit weird I do have to admit. Also in March my cousin Larissa is getting married, so my mom and I are flying to Ontario to go to the wedding. Then in April I have this awesome concert to go to. Then in the summer as always, there's the Winnipeg Folk Festival! I'm really excited about that. It's always fun. But that's all the new news I have for now.

Snowboarding...

Ouch. Is pretty much all I have to say. As you may know, I attempted to go snowboarding for the first time yesterday. It was pretty fun, until about 2:00. I wiped out super bad and landed right on my tail bone and it hurt soo bad. That's when I called it quits. I went to sit on some stairs outside to watch people snowboard/ski down the black diamond hill with all the jumps and stuff. I went inside after that and sat with Tim, Paul and Don for the rest of the day because Tim hurt his ankle, Paul hurt his face, and Don hurt his shoulder. It was a pretty good first trip. Now when I go in March, I'll kind of know what I'm doing. I still can't carve, but I can go down the hill without almost killing myself. But that's all I have to write about now.

Florida

It's been a while since I've written anything, but I did write three posts in two days. I was pretty proud. A bunch of people from my church are planning to go snowboarding on Saturday. I heard about it, but I never really thought anything of it. I have now decided that I want to go. I have never been snowboarding before, so it's a first for me. I hope everything goes well, and I learn quickly and don't have a sore butt at the end of the day, but I'm sure I will.

I miss the mornings that were so sunny and warm,
I miss the evenings that were cool and calm,
I miss sitting by the pool, with my feet dangling in.
I miss that bright and warm Florida sun,
I miss the days we spent together walking around in Walt Disney World,
I miss when we would come home and just laze around by the pool.
I miss it all.
I want to go back to Florida.

I know that "poem" isn't very good, but it was just kind of on my mind. I was just remembering waking up to +15 or 20 degrees celcius and just walking outside to sit in the sun. It was so nice.
That's all I have for today though.

My week...

This week has been a good week. I had three exams which kind of sucked, but they're all done and overwith. I think I did okay. I had Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoon's off and then I had Thursday and today off.
Yesterday I went shopping with my mom and three of my friends. We had lots of fun. I got some awesome snowboarding socks. They're so comfy. Then we dropped my friends off at their houses and we went home. I ate supper and then after that my mom and I went shopping again! It was a good day! I got some new skinny jeans. They're pretty sweet too. And after we went to the mall we went to Superstore and I convinced my mom to buy Froot Loops. I had some for breakfast this morning, and they were delicious.
Tonight I am going to Providence College with my youth group. I've been there quite a few times and I've always had a good time. It's pretty fun. Tomorrow I think I might go shopping with my mom again. I want to find some heart fabric to make some festive PJ pants. :-)
Well that's all the news I have today.

Wow it's cold!

Last night I went to play hockey with the "Wild Women". It was really fun. It was beautiful outside when we first started playing. Then the wind picked up after about 45 minutes of playing. I hit my mom with the puck in the shin while we were playing, just so you know. We went inside after that because it was just too cold. That's when I saw it! My mom's leg was purple and bruised and it had bled through her long-johns and her jeans. I felt sooo bad. It was all fine though. She said that it didn't hurt after a while, but I still felt really bad.
After that I went to the Van A's house and I had a sleepover with Kim. I couldn't fall asleep because Kim was snoring and then I pushed her over and her nose started to squeek. Then Mona, the student that they have over from China or something, was talking really loud on the phone and that kept me awake too. Kim was also hogging all the blankets! Sheesh! Anyways, I did finally end up falling asleep and I slept pretty good until about 9:00am.
Kim and I had planned to go to the mall today. We had to take the bus to the mall though beacuse we didn't have a car. We had to walk about five minutes to the bus stop and by the time we got to the bus stop we were almost frozen. It had to have been at least -40C outside with the wind chill.
That's when I was thankful I was wearing my navy blue long-johns from MEC (mountain equipment co-op). They kept me warm all day. We went to see a movie and it's always cold in the movie theaters and my dear long-johns kept me warm then too. :-)

Six Weird Things About Me:

Well, I have been tagged by my dear auntie Michele and I didn't know what that meant at first, but then I asked my dear auntie Linda and she told me. I now have to blog six weird things about me. So, here they are:

I like to eat my breakfast sausages with syrup on them. I had some for supper today and they were delicious.

I really don't like to read which I think is weird too because my mom is a HUGE reader.

My dog puts me to bed every night. He lays on my bed with me for about five minutes before I go to sleep.

I will do just about anything for candy. I get that from my mom. :-)

According to my youth leaders, I wear increadably bright clothing. Personally, I don't think it's that weird. I just like to wear colours. :)

I really like math. Math in grade 8 was way better than it is this year though.

That's all I got. I can't think of anything else anyways.

Exams are sucky....

I officially had my last class of Language Arts, Canadian Studies, and grade 9 Math today. It's pretty exciting to know that I am now finished these three classes for the year. Next semester I have Bible and Science, and I have my first spare ever! I'm pretty excited. I think it is going to be a good semester.
This coming week is exam week. I am not a big fan of exams at all. I really don't like studying for them. My brain tends to wander off and do it's own thing when I'm trying to study. Last night I did a bit of studying and it went pretty well, actually, but I'm going to have to do a lot more studying than just that!
I have four of my friends in my class. Today in school we had to move desks from the classrooms to the gym. This was at the end of the day and I was feeling pretty tired. I wanted to carry a desk together with someone else. But, NO, my friends had to pair up and leave me a loner to carry a desk by myself. I will admit it was kind of my fault because I was supposed to write the exam topics that were on the board onto a paper. I forgot so I had to rush to write them down and the person I was going to carry a desk with, Emily, was sick of waiting so she did it with someone else. Anyways, I'm over it.
Tonight I am going skating with my mom and my aunt Linda and a friend from church, Nathalie. There are other ladies that are coming to, but I don't know exactly who's coming for sure. We are going to play a pretty exciting game of hockey I think. I've been looking forward to it all week, so it'd better be good! I think it'll be a blast though.
Well, that's all the news I have for now.

One week down...

I have officially made it through the first week of school. I know this is a little late but whatever. School was better than I thought it would be last week. It was acutally quite enjoyable. It was good to see my friends and hang out with them again. I didn't go to school on Friday because it was a cold day! :-) I was pretty happy about that!
On Thursday I got my hair cut. I got about two inches off and it is soo much better than it was! I really like it.
Well, I guess I don't really have much to say today but I'm just posting a little update.

Enjoying what's left of my holidays

I am enjoying my holidays for sure! This week I had something planned almost every day. Well on Monday everybody was home because it was a holiday. On Tuesday I slept in for a really long time and then went the the Van A's. On Wednesday I took down the Christmas tree (how exciting!). Yesterday I helped Kim "babysit" the Larendeau girls. We went skating and got slurpee's! Yumm. After that we went to the mall and shopped around a little and I bought some new sweat pants that are really awesome. And finally today, Kim Van A is here and we've just been kind of lathargic the whole day. We made BLT's for lunch! They were pretty yummy. We played Sequence and listened to two songs over and over again! Well that's all I have for today.

Does anyone read my blog other than my Aunt Linda!?

Sometimes I wonder...does anyone read my blog anymore? We went to Polo Park and it was surprisingly empty. It was great. I bought a jacket and a zipper hoodie. It's pretty awesome.
I love this time of year because everyone is so joyful and happy. I love going to church because we sing Christmas carols and we talk about the birth of Jesus. I love giving and recieving presents. I love watching people open presents and opening my own. I love Christmas trees and the candy canes that hang on them. So, I'm pretty sure you get the point....I really like Christmas!
Well thats all I have to blog about today.

A little bit of everything...

Wow! Time flies! I haven't posted for a long time, but it only seems like a few days! My weekend in Ontario was really good. I got to see all my cousins again and visit with them. I went shopping with my girl cousins on Saturday and it was really fun! I bought lots of nice clothes! I got to see my mom's side of the family on Sunday which was good. I visited with my cousins and had some awesome apple pie!! Yumm! Thanks Oma! The dinner on Saturday night was really nice too! My grandparents were really happy (at least they seemed happy). After the big party we went to my oma and opa's house and we gave them a big gift basket full of goodies. Then I went to my Aunt Martha and Uncle Art's house and I had a sleepover with my cousins Kim and Karen. It was pretty fun. We watched a few movies and got a little bit of sleep.
Right now I'm sitting at the computer and I can see the trees beside the house outside the window! They're gorgeous! It snowed this morning or last night so they're all covered in snow! They look really nice!
Well, Christmas is almost here and everywhere you go, there's some kind of Christmas spirit. I love Christmastime. It's so happy and joyful. Here are some things I like about Christmas:

Christmas Trees

Snow

Advent Calendars

Cookies...decorating them and eating them

Eating good food

Christmas Dinners

Eggnog

Gingerbread houses

Spending time with family and friends

Well, that's all I have for today! I'll post more before Christmas for sure. :D

I am really bored right now, so I thought I'd post a little update. Things are good. School is going good. I am going to visit my reliatives in Ontario this weekend and I'm pumped. It's also expected to snow in the next few days and that's pretty exciting too! I love snow!! I'm ready for the cold too! I'm sick of this warm weather. It's supposed to be snowing and cold!?

Volleyball is pretty good as well. We won our game against Murdoch to qualify for play-offs and then we lost, so now we're on the "B" side. But I think we can win! We'll probably end up playing Cheif Peguis and they're not very good. We beat them last year for the B side final! And we won a banner! That was exciting.

But thats all for today! I'll keep you all posted.

Alisha....

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in so long. I've been busy with volleyball and school. This blog is called Alisha because I didn't know what to call it and my cousin Alisha is sitting beside me and she came up with it.

So anyway. I've been busy with volleyball. I had my last round robin game last Thursday and we lost. I have one last tounrament this Friday and then that's it.
School has been busy too. I've been having quite a bit of homework lately and I've been going places during my spare at lunch. Nowhere really far away, but I still don't do my homework during spare! That's boring!

On Friday, my friend Rachel had a birthday party sleepover that I went to. It was pretty fun. We watched three movies within the course of 12 hours. We watched Shes the Man, Just my Luck and High School Musical. We had lots of fun. We had a fire outside and we roasted hot dogs on the fire and we ate a volleyball cake! It was pretty good.

Well, thats all for now folks!

Ahhh....the snow....

This afternoon I had a volleyball game at MBCI, and guess what!? We lost. But anyways...on the way there (we got rides there) we went right through a red light because we couldn't stop. It was kind of creepy.
It's really slippery on the roads! We were coming home and we saw some guy run into a curb and we were slipping all over the place. I'm ready for this winter! I'm excited for it to be Christmas and have holidays and spend time with family and friends.
Anyway....thats all I have for today. We lost every single set, but we played really good the first and third games. I felt like I played good. There are a few girls on my team that are not the greatest players, but they were pretty good today. I think that we could have beat at least two of the teams that were there, MBCI and Acadia. But we didn't and thats okay.

I'm supposed to be doing homework right now, but I got sick of it, so I'm gonna do it later. I have to type out a bunch of memoirs for Language Arts class. BORING!

This past week I only had three days of school because of the teacher's convention! It was pretty awesome. I went to the Food Grains Bank for a day, I had a bunch of friends over for a sleepover on Wednesday to Thursday, and then I made a bunch of awesome belts on Friday. And tonight I'm going to a birthday party. It's gonna be pretty fun I think.

WOW!

Okay....first of all, it feels like a really long time since I wrote on here. It's been eight days! Wow, time flies. Anyways, today I was at a Volleyball tournament for the varsity boys from my school. Two of my friends were scorekeeping for the whole tournament, so I stayed with them for pretty much the whole day. It was a very exciting tournament, but I don't think they did too well. But that's okay. Then the guys in my class had a tournament at a different school just across the road. I went to visit them with two of my friends. It was pretty fun. I think they came in 3rd or 4th place. They're pretty good. It was good to watch them. It's amazing how much people improve over one year.
Okay, so, we were at the tournament and my friend, Lori and I, were sitting at a table scorekeeping. The volleyball comes over because somebody bumped it and it was right above the table. So, they guy that was running for it, "didn't see the table", so he TOTALLY ran into it! It was pretty much one of the funniest things I've ever seen! The score card thingies were knocked right off the table and Lori was stunned. She just kind of sat there for a few seconds...really still, shocked I guess you could say. It was so funny! It made my day.
The other thing that made my day was some guy that was running to get the ball. He was running, running, running.....DIVE! He dove right into a row of chairs and onto a couple of people! It was also really funny.
Anyways, that's all I have for today. It was a pretty exciting day, I must say!

All the Family..

It's been a while since I wrote. In the past week quite a bit has happened. I went to school from Monday to Thursday and my mom let me have today, Friday off. Yesterday I found out that I made the Volleyball team!! I was excited, but not surpirsed because my coach said that this year she was going to put me left side (power) and some setter. One of my friends didn't make the team. She was really quite upset. I felt sorry for her. I hope she'll get over it and continue on with life (it sounds like a mid-life crisis or something, but it's not). Tonight we're having a pig roast at my house. It's going to be after the rehersal for my cousins wedding tomorrow. It'll be fun I'm sure!
Right now, I'm kinda cold and there are some people here. My opa was just talking to me about how to read my blog, and how he needs the website name. Anyways...my mom is in the kitchen preparing some salads for tonight and I'm on the computer. But now I think I'm going to go get something to eat and maybe have some hot chocolate (with milk). Yummm.

School...

School is still quite boring. The math classes are sooooo dry. They're so easy. There is one guy in my class and whenever we go over the examples in class he gets it. But then when we do our assignment, he goes, "I don't get it!", right away. Then the teacher responds, "It would probably help if you read the question, Ryan". We're talking about adding and subtractin polynomials!! BORING! Anyways...School is pretty good other than the math classes. Today we had a sub. for gym and that was kind of sucky because we had to play soccer outside. I'd much rather stay inside and play volleyball along with the rest of the class! Canadian Studies is a pretty boing class but it is getting better. Today we assigned groups to do the 6 regions of Canada. I'm with three classmates and they're all pretty smart. No dummy's who will ruin the project which is good. Enough about the dry school stuff. Let's get to the good stuff...

VOLLEYBALL! It's so much fun. Hanging out with friends, playing the best sport in the world, and the fact that I have and awesome coach. I really hope I make the team. I don't know why I wouldn't. I mean....I'm the best player on the team. HAHA...that's a joke. But I've got to be pretty close. We had our first try outs on Monday. They went pretty well. We had to do the tennis ball drill. I really dislike that drill, but it is a pretty good one. We have to do an approach like we were going to hit, and then we have to throw the tennis ball over the net into the opposite back corner. Anyways...like you care about what I did at volleyball practice. That's enough for today!

First Days of Grade 9...

My first two days of grade nine were pretty slow/boring. The math classes are so dull, the LA classes are quiet reading and grammar so far. The only fun things I did so far are we had to pretend we were in a boat as immigrants to Canada and we had to speak this really weird language called "beep bop", and we had gym class once and all we did was play volleyball. Those are really the only highlights of my first two days. I'm sure it will get better once I'm in the "school groove". I'm not feeling particularly well either, and I'm sure that's part of the reason it's kinda slow. I like all of my teachers except for two. I think that next semester will be better too. I'll have better teachers too. I'll have Madame Petkau (the French teacher), and I'll have Mr. Harris. They're both good/funny teachers. Anyways...I should probly go.

Boring Holiday...

Right now I am sitting at the computer wondering what to blog about. The computer "blew up" the other day so a whole bunch of stuff was deleted. It sucks. Right now I'm sniffiling because I'm sick and I'm sick of being sick. I just want to get better and go to school. Eric is over right now fixing his car. My dad is outside helping him and my mom is outside in the garden. I'm bored sitting on the computer with nothing to do. This really sucks....a holiday Monday and I'm bored and I have nothing to do, but I'm sure I'll find something to do today. My two brothers are at the Van A's cabin. Well thats all I have to write about. Now perhaps I will go outside and convince Eric to come inside and eat some lunch or something.

It's been a while since I wrote. It was a really interesting trip. Then we made some pretzels with the kids. We had nothing to do while the pretzels were being baked so we went to 7-11 to get slurpees. We walked back to the church and we finished up the pretzles. Then I had to go home with Corrie and Pam, but first we went to pretty much every place on St. Marys! We had to drop off some pretzels at the fire hall, we had to wash Corries car because the carwashing garage was right there, and then we had to go to 7-11 again because Pam didn't get a slurpee with all the kids. It took forever! (I'm just kidding corrie + pam) It didn't actually take that long. And ontop of that... Joey, Micah, and I were all sitting in the back seat in a non airconditioned car!

On Thursday, I didn't do anything so I felt super sick at supper time. I hadn't done anything that day, and I had eaten a whole bunch of candy! :P

Today I designed my desk that my dad is going to build for me. It's really nice. It took a really long time though. I think that it'll be super cool/awesome when it's done!

Shopping...

Yesterday I went shopping with two of my friends from school. We had a blast. We went a ton of places and my mom took us out for lunch! Yum...Moxies.

We went to Polo Park mall. We started shopping at about 12:45 and we were supposed to meet my mom back at the elevator at 1:00 and we got a little side tracked in Mairposia. We spent at least 45 minutes in that store trying on dresses. We had so much fun. So, after that we rushed to the elevator to meet my mom and she was there waiting for us. We said that we were not near done. So, we were on our way again! We didn't go back to Mariposia...thank goodness! We went to some of the stores that we shop in more often and bought a few nice things. I got a new pair of jeans and a hoddie. Then we were finally done at about 3:00 and we went to Winners by Kildonan Place. We spent lots of time there trying on shoes and such. It was soo much fun! After our trip to Winners we just headed over to the Bulk Barn (It's in the same plaza.). We bought $7.46 worth of candy and ate it in the car on the way back to Jessica and Jamie's houses.

Overall it was a pretty successful shopping trip! It's only been five days since i've written on my blog but it seems like it's been so much longer! Many things have happened in five days!

1. My aunt and uncle left on Monday morning.
2. I went shopping for Birthday presents for Nicholas.
3. The Vissers came home and we had a really nice dinner.
4. I made an awesome card! (it's a tractor)
5. Nicholas had his Birthday.

Overall these five days have been very good ones! I am enjoying every minute of my summer! I love summer. No school, don't have to get up early(sleep in), go fun places, visit with family and friends.

As some of you may know we planted grass seed a week and a half ago I think. It's finally begining to really grow! It's soo cool to see it grow. Almost the whole lawn has a green haze over it! It's very exciting.

Anyways...that's all I have to share today.

Random stuff...

Well...where do I begin? It's been a while since I wrote. Ahhh...yes, back to Wednesday. On Wednesday I did huge groceries with my mom. We also went to Home Outfitters to get some pillows and new towels. Anyways...after that I went to Kristy's house and we boated to Lockport and we had supper there. We went back to her house and went swimming. That night Kristy came over to sleep at my house. Then we both went to Jamie's house and we went swimming there too! And then...I came home really late last night and went to bed! It was wonderful!

Anyways...that's all I have for today!

Long weekend!

It's the Monday of the long weekend! Ahhh...a day to relax. Only two more days untill my aunt and uncle come from Ontario! I'm so excited!

Last night we had a "camp" fire in our little piece of the bush beside our house. It was beautiful outside! It was a comfortable temperature and there were hardly any mosquitoes! There were lots of gnats though. We had smores!! Yummm! The chocolatey goodness mixed with the cruncy graham crackers and the gooshy marshmallow!

Anyways..that's all I have to write today!

I'm back...

I have once again entered the world of blogging. I originally had a blog, but then I didn't write on it for a really long time, and therefore I cannot find it back. I'm hoping that this one will last much longer than the other.

I am a little frustrated right now. My aunt and uncle's dog is staying at my family's house when they are gone to PEI, and he wasn't cooperating very well with my dog, Buddy. They keep on fighting and they won't stop biting each other! Jed is a very cute dog though!

My summer has been great! The first thing I did this summer was go to the Winnipeg Folk Festival. It's a weekend of relaxing and listning to mostly good music. It was super fun!
The second thing was my trip to Ontario that came up last minute! It was really fun. I stayed with my best friend, Valerie, and we did all sorts of fun things together! We went to Wild Water Works and we went shopping with our cousins! Fun times Val! PJ pants that were only $4.77!! Yaaa!
The third thing was my Volleyball camp! That was really fun too! I went with two other friends and we played volleyball for at least 5 hours a day! It was super fun!
I also went to my friends cabin this past week from Tuesday to today. We had three storms in those four days! It was really fun too!
And now...all most time for school. Just kidding! Still another month. I'm surprisingly excited to go back to school. I'll get to see all my friends again; back to school shopping...the best thing ever!

Anyways, it's late and I should probably take the dogs out again!
